Common Questions
Can I drop my child off and go tend to some errands? No, you must stay with your child onsite. Sugarbear Playhouse is not meant to be a daycare but an imaginative play area for children and families to enjoy together. Please enjoy our Wi-Fi in our adult lounge while your children are playing.
Do I have to interact and play with my child at the playhouse? We encourage parents and caregivers to get in the play area and interact with their children, as it is a great way to bond. We also understand the need for a break and a mental reset as caregivers and fostering independence in our children. Independent play is encouraged and a way for children to work on social interaction with peers and let their imagination grow. Please take a moment to rest and reset but also take this time to engage with your child in various ways that may not be available at home.
Is Cash accepted? We accept cash and cards. Cash larger than $50 is not accepted.
Do I have to pay for the Internet? No, the Internet is provided with admission. Please ask the staff for the password. If you have work, school work, or scrolling social media and want a child to play independently, the Internet is provided.
Will my kid get bored seeing the same toys? No! The fantastic staff at Sugarbear Playhouse changes toys out every ten days. Some items will stay up all the time, but others will get switched out and offer new avenues of play!
How do you clean the toys? Won't they be getting filthy with kids putting things in their mouths? Our staff will be checking in customers and tending to the front desk. When they are not at the front desk, they will be walking around the playhouse, picking up items, wiping down various toys with a non-toxic cleaner, and ensuring the safety of our friends. The most used toys will get a deep clean and laid out to dry each night. There are various buckets on the walls. The buckets are called "Yuck Buckets!" If you see a toy go into a child's mouth, please put the toy in the yuck bucket for staff to come by and clean them.
What is the cleaner you use? I would prefer not to have toxic chemicals around my kids. We use Branch Basics' non-toxic cleaner. Our non-toxic Concentrate is human-safe, effective, and sustainable. Where did the name Sugarbear come from? My father has always called me Sugarbear since birth. Our daughter has had the nickname "Sugar" and our Son "Bear" since they were born. So we put the two together and came up with "Sugarbear" and created a place for Bartlesville families to enjoy play and fun while indoors.
